Aging at Home for Chinese Seniors - Private Condominium & Life Lease Settings
In view of the limited social housing stock, the Yee Hong Centre has taken an innovative approach of developing assisted independent living environments for seniors by expanding ethno-culturally appropriate support services to private condominium and life lease settings.
Objectives
- To improve accessibility of support services for seniors
- To enable safe and independent living at home for as long as possible
- To ensure opportunities for regular socialization and improved quality
- To prevent premature institutionalization
Currently, support services are offered to residents at Villa Elegance, a private condominium, and Yee Hong Garden Terrace, a life lease development by Yee Hong.
This program was selected by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to participate in the Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2008.
