Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care Strategic Plan 2005 - 2010
In recent years, Yee Hong had focused upon the expansion of operation to deliver
culturally appropriate programs and services in the Greater Toronto Area. With the
completion of three new centres in less than three years, Yee Hong is now recognized as
an international expert in the provision of culturally specific geriatric care. It is
this reputation and the rapidly increasing needs of the aging population that have led
to an unprecedented growth in the demand for Yee Hong’s services. The intent of this
strategic plan is to assist Yee Hong in making sound choices, by focusing on the
needs of an aging population and building on the organization's greatest strengths as it
moves forward.
Strategic Directions
Yee Hong’s Strategic Directions for 2005 to 2010 encompass four key areas:

With input from Board members, staff, clients, families/caregivers, volunteers, and community partners, the Yee Hong
mission and vision
focuses upon:
- Provision of specific services to seniors of Chinese, and other cultural backgrounds
- The importance of the governance system
- The importance of a rewarding work environment and positive employee relations
- The commitment to continuous quality improvement
Strategic Plan
Goals and objectives have been developed by the corporate leadership team, the
achievement of which is monitored and reported to the Board of Directors on a regular basis.

Yee Hong acknowledges that the methods used to implement its strategic plan are as
important as the directions it sets. Most importantly, we recognize the value of our
staff, volunteers, clients, families/caregivers, and community partners
at every step of the way. Yee Hong also realizes that strategic linkages with
community partners across the health care system are vital to meeting the needs of the
aging population. With this in mind, Yee Hong is committed to advocacy efforts in
partnership with the government and community stakeholders, to ensure that the
needs of an aging population can be met today and in the future.
