Client Safety Policy
Commitment to Client Safety
The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is committed to client safety by
| (i) |
creating and promoting a culture of safety across the organization; |
| (ii) |
continually improving the effectives and coordination of communication among
care/service providers and with the recipients of care/service across the continuum; |
| (iii) |
ensuring the safe administration of parenteral medications;

| (iv) |
creating and sustaining a work life and physical environment that supports the safe
delivery of care/service; and, |
| (v) |
continually reducing the risk of facility-acquired infections and their
impact across the continuum of care/service. |
Approach to Client Safety
- All Yee Hong employees and affiliated practitioners are responsible for fully
cooperating in efforts to improve client safety and eliminate potential risks. This
includes the reporting of events which result in actual or potential injury to clients.
- Yee Hong will inform clients and their families about adverse event occurrences.
- A Quality of Care and Client Safety Committee has been entrusted with the
responsibility to oversee all client safety activities. This includes reporting and
analyzing adverse event data; reviewing key processes for prospective risks to client safety and
making improvements; and making recommendations to divisions/centres on the investigation.
- Establishing and adhering to clear policies to address all aspects of efforts
required to ensure client safety across the organization.
