Best Care Needs Your Support

Best Care brings bright smiles. However, Best Care is costly and government funding is not sufficient. That’s why Yee Hong needs your support to continue our Best Care and keep our seniors smiling.

Best Care Means…

  • Meeting physical, spiritual and cultural needs
  • Love, respect and dignity
  • Sufficient, professional staff exceeding government requirements
  • Innovation, best practices and continuous quality improvement
  • Healthy, joyful and fullest living

Evidence of Best Care
  • Longest life expectancy after admission – 7 years (industry average: 2.5 years)
  • Lowest skin ulcer rate – 2.6% (industry average: close to 30%)
  • All 805 beds in our four Centres occupied; over 1,830 seniors on our waiting list – the longest in Ontario
  • Full accreditation by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation, without recommendation – the highest rating

Why Best Care Needs Your Support
  • Nursing home care is expensive – annual cost increases by 6% while government funding increases by 2-3% only. If this gap is not bridged by donations, the level of care will definitely decline.
  • Some of our community services and special care programs are partially funded by the government while others are completely sustained by donation dollars. Many aging seniors on our waiting list and their families depend on our community services while they wait for nursing home admission.
  • New and innovative senior programs designed to meet the changing needs of the community cannot be carried out because of lack of funding.

Each year, Yee Hong needs to raise a minimum of $2.5 million to sustain our Best Care services. Our target for the Best Care Campaign is $900,000. Please take action today and help us continue our Best Care!
