PSA
“Our Seniors Deserve the Best Care”
Canada is undergoing the biggest
demographic shift in its
history. The 2006 Census reports
that 4,335,255 of us are now
over the age of 65. That’s one
in seven and represents an 11.5%
increase since 2001.
According to the most recent
population projections, seniors
could outnumber children aged 14
and under within about 10 years.
The growth of the elderly
population will start
accelerating in 2011, when the
first baby-boomers turn age 65.This multilingual PSA is
designed to raise awareness and
public support for
not-for-profit senior care
facilities and services across
Canada. It is a national message
aimed at encouraging financial
and volunteer support for local
organizations.
Yee Hong is well positioned to
take a leadership role on this
pressing national issue. It
serves as a centre of excellence
in senior care and is not only
setting the standards for
Canadian facilities, but it has
also become world renowned for
its vision and expertise. |

Since 1990, the Yee Hong
Community Wellness Foundation
has helped raise the necessary
funds for the building of four
Centres throughout the GTA. From
its strong roots in the Chinese
community it has grown to reach
out to provide culturally
sensitive care to seniors from
the South Asian, Filipino,
Japanese and Portuguese
communities, as well as from the
general community.
At its heart, this message has a
simple, powerful theme:
“Respecting our seniors and
taking care of them”. That means
providing the Best Care.
It’s an important message and
one that, with OMNI’s support,
we hope to bring to all
Canadians.
