Chair

Leslie Woo is an experienced corporate director and former chief executive with more than 30 years of executive leadership across infrastructure, transportation, public policy, land development and civic leadership. Her career has intentionally spanned the public, private, academic, and not-for-profit sectors, providing a distinctive governance perspective shaped by leading organizations responsible for long-term economic, community, and organizational outcomes.

Leslie currently serves as volunteer Board Chair of Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care and as a Board Director of Waterfront Toronto, where she chairs the Human Resources, Governance, and Stakeholder Relations Committee. Her governance experience encompasses board effectiveness, CEO oversight and succession, governance renewal, executive compensation, human capital, organizational strategy, and stakeholder accountability.

During her twelve-year tenure at Metrolinx as Chief Planning and Development Officer, Leslie held executive responsibility for planning, policy, corporate real estate, and pre-delivery oversight of more than $5 billion annually in capital investments supporting a regional transit expansion program exceeding $60 billion. Her experience spans organizations accountable to shareholders, governments, regulators, customers, and communities, providing a practical understanding of governance within complex, highly regulated, multi-stakeholder environments.

Throughout her career, Leslie has consistently worked at the intersection of commercial, governmental, and community interests. She brings informed strategic judgment, disciplined governance, and a collaborative approach to helping organizations navigate complexity, balance competing priorities, and deliver sustainable long-term performance.
