Universal Masking at Yee Hong

Our Yee Hong Infection, Prevention, and Control (IPAC) team has been closely monitoring the recent surge in influenza cases in hospitals and the higher number of influenza outbreaks in long-term care homes this year compared to previous years.

As such, effective Thursday, January 1, 2026, we will be implementing universal masking throughout all of our facilities, including the lobby and basement areas, rather than limiting mask use to resident units only.

To also protect our residents and staff from spreading and catching the virus, if you have not yet received the influenza vaccine, please consider doing so. You may have heard that this year’s vaccine is not the best match with the circulating viruses, however, it does still offer protection against becoming seriously ill.

This precautionary measure of universal masking will be continuously monitored throughout the season, and you will receive updates as they become available.
