Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care
The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is a non-profit organization serving seniors in the Greater Toronto Area. As the service arm of the Yee Hong community, it carries the responsibilities of planning and delivering high quality and culturally appropriate services to enable seniors to live their lives to the fullest - in the healthiest, most independent and dignified ways.
Officially opened in October 1994, the Yee Hong Centre now operates four long-term care centres in Scarborough, Markham and Mississauga. We offer a continuum of care services to Chinese seniors and long-term care services to seniors of various cultural backgrounds so they enjoy the best quality of life. These include the South Asian, Filipino and Japanese communities. Thousands of seniors benefit from our long-term care, senior housing, medical and rehabilitation services and community-based programs every day.
In October 2012, all four Yee Hong Centres received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing for 2012-2016—the highest honour and recognition
awarded by Accreditation Canada for an organizationís commitment to Quality and Excellence. This has been the sixth consecutive time that
the Yee Hong Centre received full accreditation since it began operation in 1994.
Since June 2004, Yee Hong has been operating a total of 805 long-term care beds and serves over 15,000 individuals annually from different ethnic communities in Greater Toronto and the surrounding areas.
